Hello and Welcome to Kindergarten!

My name is Miss Abbie Malouin and I am one of the kindergarten teachers. I am a proud graduate of St. Thomas School and it is a wonderful opportunity to teach at my former school. I graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School in 2016. I truly believe that a quality Catholic Education is a wonderful and long lasting gift to every student. I went to Westfield State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s of Art in Theatre Arts and Design. I am currently enrolled at Our Lady of the Elms College for my Masters in Special Education. I am a licensed Early Childhood Educator in the state of Massachusetts. I have spent time in inclusion classrooms both in Springfield and Southwick as well as a paraprofessional in preschool and a lead teacher in first grade.

Ever since I was little, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. Growing up I was surrounded by wonderful educators to help shape me as a student as well as what I would like to be as an educator. I firmly believe that teachers have the power to shape their students and give them both lessons from a textbook as well as making sure the students are prepared for the world around them with empathy, understanding, and respect for themselves, others and the world.

Kindergarten is a wonderful place to be and I am so excited to see students learn and grow this year!
