Hello, my name is Mary Lou Bonfitto.  During my 20 years of teaching, I have taught kindergarten through eighth grades in a catholic school setting, as well as public school.  It is a faith and family-oriented school, which encourages individual success.  My daughters have been at St. Thomas since 2014 and have grown academically and have gained excellent leadership skills.

As an educator, I am thrilled to be a member of the St. Thomas faculty. Their commitment, dedication and support is tremendous. They welcomed me as their permanent substitute teacher in 2015.

I feel so blessed and excited to teach third grade.  The students are eager to see how subjects overlap.  They are encouraged to be independent problem solvers and higher learning individuals.  This foundational year promotes better organization skills and encourages extracting detail and sharing in oral as well as written form.   I always strive to find the best learning tools for each student. Whether it be math or reading, games, analogies, or song can help with memorization and order. Incentives are used throughout the year to help achieve goals promoting self-confidence and success. Then school becomes an exciting adventure in learning!

I thank you, parents, for sharing your children with me. I am looking forward to working with you and your children. Communication and cooperation in educating your children is so important. It will be a wonderful year!
