Hello,my name is Barbara Turmel and I have been teaching at St. Thomas School for the last 32 years. I taught kindergarten for my first three years but have taught first grade the remaining time. I love teaching and especially love teaching here at St.Thomas.

I am a graduate of Cathedral High School. I received both my undergraduate and Master degree in
Reading from Elms College. My intent this year, as it has always been is to instill in my children a love of learning, in particular through their reading and writing experience. Our classroom is an environment where the children learn to express themselves without reservation.I believe that together we can assure a successful grade experience.

In addition to teaching,I am a facilitator for the Battle of the Books club, member of the Spirit Week Committee,Grandparents’ Day Committee, and Crisis Team. I also assist with the Golf Team and the school’s Christmas Pageant.
