I love teaching Kindergarten! There is so much joy in watching my students when a “light-bulb” moment happens: when they learn to track the words in a sentence, write about their favorite activity or take two groups of teddy bears and add them together. Kindergarten is an amazing place!
My name is Amanda Nehmer and I have been in the field of education for 24 years. I have taught both preschool and kindergarten at Holy Name School in Springfield and St. Thomas School in West Springfield. I started my education journey at Westfield State College and completed a Master’s in Education at Elms College.
I am very honored to have received the Harold Grinspoon Excellence in Teaching Award for 2010.
In addition to teaching kindergarten, I serve as a member of the St. Thomas Curriculum Committee and Co-coordinator of the St. Thomas Crisis Management Committee.
